Preschool Program and Pre-K Program
Preschool Program and Pre-K Program
Little Redwoods Early Learning Center is a warm, home-based preschool designed for children ages 3–5 who are fully potty trained and ready to learn, play, explore, and grow in a small-group environment.
Our program blends intentional learning with meaningful play, giving children opportunities to build independence, confidence, social-emotional skills, and a strong foundation for kindergarten—all while enjoying the magic of childhood.
Kindergarten Readiness
Children are introduced to early literacy, phonics, math, problem-solving, fine-motor skills, classroom routines, and independence through age-appropriate, hands-on experiences.
Learning Through Play
Children learn through purposeful play, creative activities, sensory exploration, building, movement, and opportunities to follow their curiosity.
Nature & Outdoor Exploration
Our outdoor environment is an extension of the classroom. Children have daily opportunities for outdoor play, nature exploration, gardening, and seasonal discovery.
Social-Emotional Learning
We help children develop emotional awareness, communication, confidence, cooperation, kindness, and the ability to navigate relationships with others.
Spanish & ASL Exposure
Spanish and American Sign Language vocabulary are naturally incorporated into songs, stories, activities, and everyday classroom experiences.
A Nurturing Home-based Environment
Our intimate setting allows children to learn in a calm, welcoming environment where they can feel comfortable being themselves and develop a sense of belonging.
We also explore:
Weekly Yoga/Mindful Meditation
Weekly Animal Therapy with Chickens and Sweet Golden Retrievers
Gardening/Horticulture
Movement through Music and so much more!

How do pets benefit children's development?
Pets benefit children's development by providing positive feelings about pets, which can contribute to a child's self-esteem and self-confidence. The presence of pets has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety levels in children. Petting an animal releases endorphins, promoting a sense of calm and well-being. Positive relationships with pets can aid in developing trust. A good relationship with a pet can also promote non-verbal communication, compassion, and empathy.
